Switching from
AT&T to AKKO

Many service providers amp up the prices on their phone insurance plans so that customers end up paying far more money than they need to for damages that might not ever happen. For example, most American adults have never broken or lost a cell phone.
That’s why we’ve created AKKO’s affordable phone protection plans. So you can spend money on things you’ll actually use while still making sure that your devices are covered.

Benefits
Benefits of AKKO Phone Insurance
In the world of phone insurance, most of the plans are so similar that it’s hard to tell a difference. For the most part, they’re tailored to cater to the company, not the consumer. So we decided to set a new standard that gives the user (the person who the insurance is actually for) complete control.

01
Used and Refurbished Devices
One of the main reasons that customers are interested in switching from AT&T insurance is because their plan doesn’t cover used or refurbished devices. In fact, most carrier insurance plans don’t.
Why? In short: They want to make the sale. Most wireless carriers aren’t really interested in being insurance companies. Their goal is to sell new phones, since that’s where most of their profit is coming from. Most carriers partner with Asurion or another third-party insurance company, to provide coverage. It doesn’t make financial sense for them, as a company that sells phones, to insure phones that aren’t from their store.
Fair enough. But that doesn’t mean that you have to go with the carrier’s option to protect your device (even if they try to make it seem that way). Instead, you can get new coverage for an old phone with AKKO. Whether you’re going with a “vintage” smartphone or just bought the latest and greatest, we’re here for you.
02
Number of Claims Allowed
As a rule of thumb, most carriers allow two to three claims per twelve-month period. And you can cross your fingers and hope that’s enough. But for the accident-prone (or the particularly unlucky) person, this could mean paying a high monthly fee, doling out a high deductible when you use the coverage, and then paying for a whole new phone anyway!
When you cancel AT&T phone insurance and go with AKKO, you can make as many phone insurance coverage claims as you need. We don’t judge.
03
Pricing
Why pay more for something you probably won’t need? With AKKO’s single-phone insurance plans, you can pay as little as $5/month. In comparison, most people pay three to four times that amount with their carrier insurance!
With AKKO, your deductible for damage is between $29 – $99 (compared with most wireless carriers at $29 – $199). Your deductible for theft or replacement starts at $75, whereas most carriers start at $150. (Psst! Like charts? See the comparison here).
We do our best to make sure you have everything you want in an insurance carrier, no matter what your needs may be. Are you a tech guru? AKKO gives you the ability to upgrade your plan to cover your phone and insure multiple devices (up to 25) – and still pay less than your carrier’s plan.
Need to pay for the whole gang? Our affordable family plans are for you.
